Donghai, a county-level city, is under the jurisdiction of the City of Lianyungang. Nicknamed “Land of Crystals”, the county is well known for its reputation in natural crystal production and manufacture, which, with 70% of the national reserve of the precious material, produces 80% China’s crystal products. The 4.35-tonne “China Crystal King”, among the precious collections at the Chinese Museum of Geology, was unearthed in Donghai.
Donghai’ crystal market is doing well and the city is packed with crystal dealers over 10,000 daily with some 50,000 visitors on a peak day, both domestically and internationally.
The Donghai’s crystal come in all sorts of colors – red, purple, green, black, white, yellow and blue.
